“She came in angry and upset about her pregnancy. Amy* already had one child and knew her family would disown her when they heard she was carrying a biracial baby. I assured her that I would be beside her providing support every step of the way. I went to every doctor’s appointment and attended every parenting class with her. As we walked that path together, her hard exterior began to soften and she became a precious friend of mine.
Choices quickly became a beacon of hope in her life. Even though she felt her church had turned their back on her, she was able to encounter the love of Jesus at every Choices appointment through our staff and volunteers. During this time, Amy rededicated her life to the Lord.
I witnessed so many blessings in her life during her pregnancy. Her family eventually came alongside of her and embraced her new child and the baby’s father married her and adopted her other special needs child.
The most exciting part for me was to see God active and alive in her heart and family. Amy frequently came by after the baby was born just to share with me all that God was doing and how He was still at work.”
